Inreach and Outreach

We define outreach simply as extending a hand – to whom and how far that hand reaches is only a matter of need and geography. It can be as simple as a card and a handwritten note to one of our own parishioners mourning a loss or celebrating a victory – or as far-flung as the gift of school uniforms and food to orphans on the other side of the world. Wherever its effects are felt, the goal is the same: make a tangible, measurable difference, one life at a time.
The Inreach/Outreach Committee is the vehicle by which we extend that hand, but it is all our parishioners, through their financial and moral support, who make the Committee’s work possible. The following are some of the ways we try to help:
The Note Ministry – letting our parishioners know they are loved as part of our family by acknowledging difficult and joyous times;
The Community Center of Northern Westchester – supporting this wonderful organization in its efforts to help hundreds of local families through gifts of food, clothing, money and time;
Carpenter’s Kids – sponsoring more than 50 Tanzanian children, orphaned by AIDS or facing other hardships, by providing school uniforms, healthy lunches and school supplies;

Appalachian Service Project (www.asphome.org)- sending our young people to one of the most distressed parts of America to help in the building and repair of homes;
Friends of Karen – donating gifts and money to help provide emotional and financial support to children with life-threatening illnesses, as well as their families;
Easter Baskets for Seniors – delivering complete dinners along with Easter cards from our children to seniors in need throughout our community;
Rosary Hill Shawl Ministry – bringing dozens of beautiful shawls, lap robes and afghans, hand-made by our parishioners, to terminally ill patients at the Rosary Hill Home.
